Happy Times on the Calendar

I like to write down the people and events of each day on my calendar, filling it with the memories of my growth, gains, losses, joys, and sorrows.

This hobby originated from a radio broadcast where the host mentioned keeping a calendar by her bedside and circling the birthdays of every relative and friend, as well as all the holidays of the year, adding notes of blessings. Every morning when she woke up, she would tell herself that someone needed her blessing today, that it was a happy day, or that a special day awaited her, a blissful day.

At that moment, I immediately decided to follow suit, starting to circle and record things on my own calendar.

Turning the pages of the red and green calendar, the year's events unfolded vividly before my eyes.

Work frustrations led to this: "These past few days, I've encountered some difficulties at work, and I've been feeling a bit down. I can't let this continue. Suddenly, I remembered a saying I saw: 'The only way to get rid of weeds in a field is to plant crops.' I knew what to do."

Family matters were also on the table: "Today I was very tired and didn't want to do housework, so I argued with my wife. Our neighbor came to comfort us, and she told me a philosophical saying: 'A happy life begins with an apology.' Later, I learned to do it, and we turned hostility into friendship."

A special holiday brought sweetness: "The Qixi Festival gift was so special. My wife learned to cook online, and she picked the rose petals, washed them, added sugar, and cooked them into porridge, calling it 'Love Rose Porridge.' It was really sweet."

  ...

These snippets of daily life reveal the most authentic aspects of life—how many years have been wasted? How many days have been squandered? How much of yesterday's life was fulfilling enough for me to reminisce about? The best answer is to treat each day with a down-to-earth attitude and paint each page of the calendar as the most beautiful picture. Write each day's calendar with emotion, loyalty, love, responsibility, and creative labor.

In this way, at the end of each year, a thin calendar becomes a record of a whole year's happiness: the scenery we've passed through connects our entire lives; we've cried, laughed, been passionate, and been disheartened—no matter what, we've walked through it all…

Among the scenery, the most beautiful line is our calendar life, page after page…
